In my opinion, it is better to write down, what makes you anxious and your plan of action if this becomes a reality.

By writing:

1. You can easily rehash the plan next time you are anxious about the same or similar thoughts, and remind yourself that you don't have to worry.

2. With time, you can see if there is a pattern and try to find identify the root cause for your anxieties or overthinking. Apply the same strategy to overcome the root cause as well!
